Phantasialand
Introduction
Phantasialand is one of the major European parks. It is located in Brühl, Germany, south of Cologne (about 3h30 from Lille or Strasbourg by car).
It offers a theme park of the same name, two hotels, the 4-star LingBao with an Asian theme and the 3-star Matamba with an African theme. A third is planned in a new area for 2020, the Charles Lindbergh capsule hotel. For a greater change of scenery, you can also sleep in an Indian tent camp.
The Phantasialand Park
It opened on April 30, 1967 on the site of a former open-pit mine. Today, it consists of several zones with very little space. The attractions are all intertwined next to each other but with sumptuous scenery, you really have to experience this unique place!
The park offers a whole assortment of rides and roller coasters for all tastes. It is especially known for its spectacular roller coasters: Taron, one of the best in Europe, a roller coaster with two magnetic launches, Black Mamba, an inverted roller coaster that "snakes" and runs along the scenery with astonishing speed and intensity, Winja's Fear & Force, a double spinning coaster course with unique and surprising elements, Colorado Adventure, a mine train that has nothing to be ashamed of compared to those in Disney parks, especially in terms of intensity.
On the side of more traditional attractions you will find: River Quest, an ultra-wet raft ride, Chiapas, a new generation "log" flume ride with a vertiginous fall, Maus Au Chocolat, an interactive dark ride, Mystery Castle, a free fall tower, and many children's rides scattered throughout all areas of the park.
