Six Flags Magic Mountain
Six Flags Magic Mountain was originally called Magic Mountain. It is a 106-hectare amusement park located in Valencia next to Santa Clarita, approximately 56 kilometers northwest of Los Angeles. This park opened on May 30, 1971, and was acquired by Six Flags in 1979.
With its 20 roller coasters, Six Flags Magic Mountain holds the record for the most roller coasters in an amusement park. In 2017, the park welcomed 3.3 million visitors, placing it 16th among the most visited parks in North America.
With the opening of Great American Revolution in 1976, Magic Mountain became the first park in the world to have a 360-degree loop on a steel roller coaster. At the time, the vegetation was still sparse, but since then, everything has grown well, and the trees and shrubs prevent you from seeing where you are going, avoiding the view too far in advance of the tracks. This roller coaster, which would later be named Revolution, would be the centerpiece of a Universal film in 1977.
The park then developed a lot, constantly bringing new things and making it the ideal place for thrill seekers.
Among the latest additions, Six Flags transformed a wooden roller coaster into a hybrid roller coaster with Rocky Mountain Construction with Twister Colossus. A new giant pendulum was added in 2017 called CraZanity. In 2020, the park opens its 20th roller coaster with West Coast Racers, a double-launch roller coaster accessible for the whole family.
